The exhibition is free and open to public until Sunday 23rd October.
Make sure you check it out. For more information head. Here, DJ Hype remembers a stand out moment from fabric and explains why the club is so highly regarded by DJs and clubbers alike.I have probably DJed at fabric more than any other Drum and Bass DJ. After 15 years of hosting Room One with my Playaz nights, performing at other fabric events and the sad fact the club was shut down I know better than most just how much this has left a large hole in London’s club land. I have had so many great nights there and it’s always been on most DJs wish list to perform there.
Every month I had the perfect testing ground for my style of playing, the crowd is so diverse compared to other clubs in London because of the global prestige it has around the world. One of my favourite nights there was when I did my very first Playaz Carnival Special where I used all three arenas to showcase every style of drum and bass and jungle in all their glory. I got to the club at 1am and saw a queue of people that stretched round the block - I thought why is no one in the club yet? But once in the club I realised it was full to capacity and the people outside could fill the club again.I have been DJing since the early 1980s and fabric has been easily the best club showcasing and supporting underground dance music in all its genres. I also appreciated the way all the staff at fabric whatever the role was really care and seemed to have a genuine love for the club which is quite rare in nightclubs.Looking back over the 15 years of DJing at the club I am sad the clubs shut but I am also very proud to have a legacy with fabric that will never be forgotten and hope that the club can get their license back. ©News Group Newspapers Limited in England No. 679215 Registered office: 1 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9GF.
